Do note that valor style only gives blue spirit bar which is unique: it is 1 stage only, it's on whenever in valor mode and instead of 20% from red bar, it's now a 15% in blue bar. I just started out playing MHGU and found that actually going for those guardpoints is quite difficult. Outside of Valor mode it’s very limited. This means using the new evades (or CB gets a GP, DBs get the dash, LS gets the counter, GL gets the GP reload, etc), each valor style adds something to the mobility of a weapon. Valor is amazing for the extra safety provided and high damage once it is activated, it also doesn’t require too much skill to initiate. And you can roll out of siege mode towards an oncoming enemy and Aerial-jump right over them, rapid-firing (yes, with HBG) down at them as you go. The Sheating Stance is still useful to dodge stuff in a pinch (ideally you should be countering stuff, tho), but the moves themselves aren't any stronger than doing them normally and are much slower due to needing to go into stance first. now i am thinking i will be able to do it with valor style.
